This site collects personal information only when you send it to us through a form. Here is exactly what that means.
Policy
Who we are
Off The Map Productions, LLC operates off-the-map.com, a creative studio website, and Compass, a video production platform currently in private beta. Contact: hello@off-the-map.com.
What we collect
We collect information only when you submit one of the three forms on this site.

When a form is submitted, our server also sees your IP address and the time of the request. We use the IP address transiently to limit repeated submissions and to reject automated spam; it is written to our hosting provider's function logs together with the request time and outcome, but not with the contents of your message.
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other sites. The site stores one preference in your browser's local storage if you pause background motion; it never leaves your device.
How we use it
- To answer your message, prepare an estimate, or discuss a project.
- To review partner applications and administer commissions for accepted partners.
- To send Compass beta invitations and launch news to waitlist members.
- To keep our records of inquiries, leads and partners in our customer relationship management system.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it
Your information is handled by the following services, each acting on our instructions:
- Vercel hosts the website and runs the functions that receive form submissions.
- Resend delivers form submissions to our inbox as email.
- Polaris, our own customer relationship management system, stores inquiries, waitlist signups and partner applications so we can follow up.
Partner payouts are made through Stripe, PayPal or ACH bank transfer according to the method you choose; those providers receive the details needed to make the payment under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Inquiries and estimate requests are kept while we are in conversation and for our business records afterward. Partner records are kept for as long as you are a partner and as required for tax and accounting. Waitlist entries are kept until Compass launches or you ask to be removed. Function logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period under its plan and are then deleted.
Your choices
- Email hello@off-the-map.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We respond within one business day and complete requests promptly unless we need to keep a record for legal or accounting reasons.
- Every Compass or partner email we send includes a way to opt out.
- You can read this site without submitting anything; no account is required.
California residents
We do not sell personal information. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals because we do not track visitors across sites in the first place. No third party collects personal information about your activity on this site over time.
Children
This site is for businesses and adult creators. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted a form, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes that affect information we already hold will be emailed to the people concerned.
